THE TERM IS NEARLY OVER......

We are nearly at the end of the term so it is all go in the afternoon finishing off our terms work.

Our topic of Me In The Big Wide World isn't completed so we will continue that next term.

This week we have been learning about "When do I have to wait?"
A list of all of our thoughts went up on the board...here are some of them.
I have to wait when....I am at the Doctors
                                   I am buying McDonalds
I am playing a game and have to wait for my turn
                                   I am on a bus

We learnt that waiting is very important but it can be very hard to do especially when our parents are talking or on the phone and we want them.

"What can we do while we are waiting?"
Well we can go and play with our toys or read a book until they are finished.
Waiting while playing games with friends is also hard so we have been playing card games to practise being patient.

On Wednesday we had a wonderful surprise ....Gayle was so excited when the door opened and standing there was an old friend that was part of the Afternoon Programme some years ago!!
He told us that he loved coming to our programme and thinks about Waimairi school every day.

Welcome back Jamie...it was so good to see you!

On Monday the link to watch our performance at Monday MeetUp will be put on our blog.
Enjoy your weekend and the sun.

WE ARE SUPER STARS!!!!

PHEW!!!    Monday Meet Up is behind us...we were very nervous and excited before we got up on the stage but now that we have achieved being SUPER STARS we are oh so proud of ourselves!
Luke B summed it all up when he said how nervous he was but once he got going up on the stage he felt really good.

Mr Anderson learning to do the Coconut dance!

We have more photos to show you but dropbox is taking forever to download them but once they are downloaded we will put the on the blog for you to see.

When we had finished our dance it was time for us to get our teachers up and teach them how to do the Coconut dance. They were quite good considering they hadn't done it before !

Week 6

We all hope that you have been keeping dry this week....it has definitely been gumboot weather!!

This week we have been busy working on our dance routine for Monday Meet Up.
We are ready to show everyone what stars we are!! Some of us are a wee bit nervous but we know that we can do it!
On Thursday we tried on the outfits that we are going to wear.

Winter is here so we put our thinking caps on and made a huge list of winter words.
They will all be glued onto a snowman that we have made. When we finish it next week we will have some photos to show you.

Luke B came up with the fantastic idea that we could collect the rubbish from around the school one afternoon. It was meant to be on Tuesday but because of all the rain we haven't had a chance to do it yet.
Well done Luke B for suggesting it....you are a very tidy kiwi!!

As well as trying on our outfits on Thursday we made dinosaur biscuits. It was a request from Aaron and Luke B.
Here is the recipe.....

225g self raising flour
100g caster sugar
100 g
marg or butter
1 egg
lemon juice
Heat the oven to 180degrees celsius
Mix flour and sugar
Rub in the butter/marg
Add egg and lemon juice to make the dough
Roll out and cut
Bake for 10mins
Every biscuit turned out perfectly and was absolutely delicious
Sorry but we forgot to take photos of them.

If you are passing by school on Monday please come into  Monday Meet Up and see us on the stage.

Week 5

We all hoped that you enjoyed the long weekend .We did!! Wasn't it great to have fabulous weather?

This week we have celebrated two birthdays ...George and Katelyn

George is now 8!

Katelyn is now 12!

Waimairi School was given a voucher to buy plants for our school . Mr Anderson thought that we should  go out and choose them so off we went to Oderings Nursery.

We thought that this would be a very easy thing to do BUT when we got there we changed our minds!!

There were so many plants to choose from!!!

These are very colourful...Rachel
Do we need this?....Luke
How about these.....Aieshar
I think we should get this one!....Luke

We chose two plants, paid for them and then we had a look around the shop. It was filled with heaps of beautiful things. We thought that our Mums would have liked the things that we saw.

Oderings have a big pond outside that is filled with masses of big fat goldfish!
