It was awesome being our with our friends having such a fun time. We had heaps of laughs and there was a lot of screaming when we came down the slide!!!!!

Our birthday boy was VERY tired when he got home!!!!!

We have had a difficult time trying to choose a dance to perform for the Arts Finale.
We watched several dances on You Tube to finally come to a decision.
Yesterday we had to vote on what we would like to do and it was a draw....so now, we are going to learn two dances.
The final vote went to two Jump Jam dances.....The Witch Doctor and The Coconut Dance.

Also this week we started our new topic......Me In The Big Wide World
First up was the discussion on Good Mates and Mean Mates....we came up with a very long list for both.
None of us wanted to be a Mean Mate.
We all wanted to be  Good Mate because....

I don't want to hurt anyone.....Katelyn
I want to have lots of friends....Rachel
I want to care for people and get more friends. I don't want to be mean to people....Luke B
I want to play with my friends so they will play with me....Luke U
I want to be friends with people...George.
I want to be a Good Mate so I can have friends....Aaron
I want to help people....Jeremy

Are you a Good Mate?

Week 2

Today we woke to a frost but now we have a stunning sunny day. Isn't Autumn fantastic when we experience days like this?

This week we were very lucky to get a visit from Luke B's mum.
She had been to Tonga for a holiday and came to spend the afternoon with us to tell us all about life in Tonga.
None of us had been there so we were all interested in what she had to say.
We learnt about animals, housing, weather, people and how to get there.
Did you know that it only takes 2 hours and 20 minutes from Auckland to get to Tonga?

Thank you Cheryl for coming in with to talk with us. Your photos were stunning and we loved all the things that you had purchased in Tonga.

The following day we talked about Tonga and Myanmar to see if there were any differences...after lots of discussion we decided that there were quite a few similarities.

It is so good learning about all these countries because one day we might get to go there and we will know all about them.

Not only did Luke have his Mum coming to spend the afternoon with us, he also celebrated his birthday. This means that we all got to eat ice-cream !!!
Happy Birthday Luke!

The birthday boy blowing out his candle!

It was art time on Wednesday...we were given a tray that had strips of paper on it...some were straight and some were curly. Creation time here we come.......

The final results were fantastic....even if we say so ourselves!!!!

Enjoy the sun everyone and have a superb weekend.
We will talk to you next week!

Term 2

Hi everyone,
It is so good to be back at school and to see all of our friends.
We hope that you have all had a wonderful holiday because we have!!

This Term we are going to explore the' Arts,' so we started talking about what we thought that the 'Arts' meant.
The list of arty activities was quite long but after a chat we realised that we had left a few things out, like dance , doing a play and dressing up!  We were excited about the dressing up as we just love doing that!!
The next day Gayle arrived with a big box that was all cellotaped up.
Mmm...can you guess what was in it?    It was her wedding dress!!! It was very old and some of us tried it on....even Jeremy and George. We had such fun and lots of laughs. Gayle hummed the wedding march and we paraded around in it. Rachel and Aieshar even chose a groom to be at their side !!

Rachel and her chosen groom!

Doesn't  George look amazing ...he loved dressing up!

Jeremy doing a twirl!!!

After all that fun it was back to work to make cards for our wonderful  mothers.

We drew a heart and then put did a foot painting on a piece of paper with the words...

"I love you from the bottom of my heart to the tip of my toes."

We know that our Mums are just going to love getting this card.

We wrapped it up in paper with a bow so they wont know what they are getting ...we will give it to them on Sunday as Sunday is Mother's Day.

We are all so lucky to have such wonderful Mum's.
